LOAN WATCH: Man City's Celtic loanee Guidetti targeting Old Firm treble

Celtic's John Guidetti is looking to take down Old Firm rivals Rangers in the Scottish League Cup next month.

The Swedish striker, who is on a season-long loan from Manchester City, has scored 11 goals in 18 outings since arriving at Celtic Park but has not hit the back of the net in his last six matches.

The Hoops meet Old Firm rivals Rangers in the league cup semi-final on February 1 and Guidetti wants to create history by becoming the first Celtic player since 1973 to score a hat-trick in the Glasgow derby.

"I fancy three. That is what I did against Ajax when I was with Feyenoord (in Holland) and that is the aim this time," said Guidetti.

"The dream would be to score - but the most important thing is we win against Rangers. Big games are what I love the most. That is why I wake up in the morning."

Of his mini-drought, Guidetti added: "My confidence is fantastic. The best strikers in the world can go 16 or 17 games without a goal. People want to make a massive thing about going six games without a goal.

"It's not a massive thing for me. Diego Costa went four games without a goal a few weeks ago and no one mentioned it - but when John Guidetti does the same it's the biggest thing in the world."
