Ethan Wheatley proud of Man Utd debut: What Bruno told me...

Ethan Wheatley is proud to have made his Manchester United debut.

The striker, 18, was a late substitute in last night's 4-2 win against Sheffield United. Wheatley became the 250th academy graduate to do so at United.

“Not really, no!" he told MUTV when asked if he has been able to consider his breakthrough. “Even since Wembley, it's just… nothing's really kicked in yet!

“It's a great club with a massive history, especially in the Academy as well.

“It's just an honour to make my debut. And then that number 250 is just a little extra as well."

He also revealed a word from skipper Bruno Fernandes: “He pulled me to the side and said: 'I've got nine minutes to try and get you a goal!'

“So I was just trying to get in that position for him and obviously it didn't come, but hopefully, hopefully soon."
