Zenit St Petersburg are believed to be pondering a February move for Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen.
Reports suggest that the Russian club, who can still sign players until the end of the month, are showing significant interest in the Belgian centre-back.
Vermaelen continues to be left out of Arsenal's line-up, with Arsene Wenger preferring Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny in central defence, and is determined to gain regular football ahead of this summer's World Cup.
