Why ex-West Ham, Hull star Bullard joining "I'm a Celebrity"

Former West Ham United and Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard is entering "I'm a Celebrity" due to cash problems.

The Sun reports Bullard is skint, having lost £625,000 in a get-rich-quick scheme.

The cash-strapped 36-year-old is expected to fetch £100,00 for his appearance Down Under, and while he waits on a police investigation into the scheme he signed up for, friends believe it's the need to recoup his losses that have seen the former midfielder throw himself into the jungle.

An insider on the programme said: "The money isn't normally anywhere near enough for Premier League footballers.

"Losing so much cash explains why he was so keen to go."
