The Daily Star reports that West Ham United are set to place £5.7million bid for the Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang.

The Hammers are without a manager after parting company with Sam Allardyce last week, but they have pushed ahead with a move for Obiang.

The 23-year old Spanish U21 ace also has since interest from rival Premier League clubs such as Stoke City and Tottenham.

The Hammers hope to complete the deal when the summer transfer window opens on July 1.
