Manchester Unites forward Robin van Persie, who has scored seven goals in 11 Premier League appearances this season, is ruled out for month with a thigh injury. The 30 year old injured his thigh after the corner he took that led to Phil Jones' match winner in a 1-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday.
"It's unfortunate because I think if you look at our record with Wayne Rooney and Robin in the team, it is actually very good and we have not had them for quite a period recently," said boss David Moyes.
"Robin Van Persie is out as well for a month. He picked up a thigh strain in taking a corner kick which led to the goal."
