Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says a salary cap in the Premier League "isn't feasible".
He told The Sun: "In an ideal world, yes. But it will never happen, it is simply not feasible.
"If a big club wants to sign a big-name player they could always find ways around it. For example, huge bonuses, image rights, a higher transfer fee with a bigger percentage going to the player.
"Managers don't get involved in wages, it is chairmen and chief executives. They have budgets and pay what they can afford.
"Clubs have to set their own individual salary caps to balance their books. And when and how would you start a salary cap? Can you see a player finishing a season on £130,000 a week then starting the next on £30k a week? Me neither."
