Italy World Cup winner Marco Tardelli believes AC Milan will avoid relegation this season.

Tardelli, the Republic of Ireland assistant coach, was taking talkback calls yesterday on local radio.

"The Rossoneri are in the relegation zone? I do not think that they'll go down, but it is certain that if they do not strengthen in January, they risk a very poor campaign," said Tardelli.
