Sunderland face legal threat from relegated clubs

Sunderland's Great Escape is not so cut-and-dried.

The Mail on Sunday says Cardiff City, Fulham and relegation-threatened Norwich, are using lawyers to fight the decision not to dock Sunderland points for fielding an ineligible player.

Sunderland were let off with a fine for fielding Ji Dong-won in four League games earlier this season, although the club earned only a point from those matches.
