Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is confident Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy will move to the area from London.
His spouse has voiced her frustration at having to move back north after her husband joined on deadline day.
Yet Pulis says he has broached the subject with his new £10m striker.
He said: "I've spoken to Peter and he's looking for a house up here and his wife is going to come with him.
"We are very central here. I've got players living as far away as Liverpool and Birmingham. We start a little later to take account of that fact and the lads do a 45-minute gym session in the mornings before we start.
"It's a smashing place to live and work. Five minutes in any direction - north, south, east or west there is some of the most beautiful countryside in the country."
