Danny Simpson has welcomed former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand to QPR.
The veteran defender signed for the Rs this week.
QPR fullback Simpson told the Fulham Chronicle: "Rio was like my mentor and helped me with everything when I was coming through. When I broke into the team I was playing at right-back and he helped me learn so much about the game.
"He was a massive help to me and one of the things I said before he came is how influential he is and how much I can learn from him. I did it when I was 19 and I can still learn for him now, seven or eight years later.
"He's still hungry and wants to play in the best league in the world. Obviously, he's known Harry Redknapp for 20-odd years now and since he's come in he's been top class."
