Valencia ace David Silva insists they deserve to be regarded as genuine title contenders this season.

"The objective for this season is to win a title. If it can be the Liga, better. Real Madrid and the Barcelona have bought very well, they are great teams but if we have good luck with injuries we are going to compete with them to the end. We are going to fight for the title with them."

Asked about pundits suggesting he can emerge to be Spain's best player, Silva laughed: "Are you serious? I have not heard that, but what is clear is that I am not. I still need to do a lot to reach the level of others. I still have a lot to learn."
