Chelsea defender Alex Davey has joined Scunthorpe United on loan until 3 January, having also agreed terms on a new contract until 2016.

Davey, 20, has been a regular in the Under-21 side this season and also featured in Chelsea's 2012 FA Youth Cup success.

This loan represents a first opportunity for senior football for the Scotland Under-19 international, with Scunthorpe currently 23rd in League One.
