Real Salt Lake have named assistant coach Craig Waibel as the clubs new technical director.
The 39-year old has taken the step up to the directors' role following the departure of general manager Garth Lagerwey.
Lagerwey has left RSL after 10 years of services to join Seattle Sounders but his position will be filled by former Sounders, LA Galaxy, San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo defender Waibel who is more than capable of stepping into the vacancy according to club owner Dell Loy Hansen.
"Craig is an extraordinarily bright, successful individual whose teams have been winners at every step of his career," said Dell Loy Hansen in a statement.
"He is the ideal person to work with Jeff Cassar, Bill Manning and myself to evolve this club forward, building upon the incredible foundation established during the last 10 years by Garth Lagerwey and countless others."
