Roma chief Bruno Conti has warned Manchester City off Daniele de Rossi.

City boss Roberto Mancini being a known admirer of the player, but Roma technical director Conti insists De Rossi, who is expected to be a starter in Marcello Lippi's World Cup squad, is very much part of the future plans at Stadio Olimpico.

Conti said: "De Rossi is not for sale.

"In no eventual strategy in our market do we predict his possible sale."
