Robins poised to become Scunthorpe manager

Scunthorpe United chairman Peter Swann has confirmed that former Coventry and Huddersfield boss Mark Robins has agreed to be their new manager. Swann told BBC Radio Humberside the 44-year-old will replace sacked Russ Wilcox on Monday.

"I'm delighted because the most important thing was to not leave the team in limbo," Swann said.

"We've spent the last 24 hours ironing out the contract and we're there now so we hope to announce the appointment on Monday.

"I was impressed with Mark's track record and I hope he has a long tenure here. It's a great opportunity for him and for us."
