Javier Morales was named the MLS Player of the Week for week 2 after his brace for Real Salt Lake.
The 31-year old Argentine forward struck twice in RSL's 4-1 demolition of LA Galaxy at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sunday, first converting from the penalty spot in the 10th minute before slotting his second from the edge of the 18-yard box in the 41st minute to make it 3-0.
It was the second double Morales has scored in about six months following his duo of goals against Columbus Crew on August 14 last year.
He joins Mexico international Omar Bravo on the Player of the Week nominees after he scored twice for Sporting Kansas City last week.
