QPR's Austin: Wilson, Howe, Dyche and Redknapp have all had an effect on me

QPR striker Charlie Austin has heaped praise on all the managers that have had an influence on his career.

The 25-year old has come through the ranks to now be a bona fide Premier League player and admits that some of his past bosses in particular have helped him get to where he is today.

"I skipped all the youth teams but I think that ended up working better for me," Austin, who left none-league team Poole Town for Swindon Town in 2009, told the Daily Mail

"'I learnt quicker. When I went to Swindon manager Danny Wilson saw my strengths and we just worked on being a centre-forward.

"Wilson took the gamble to take me from Poole Town to Swindon. Then he threw me in at the deep end. That took a lot of guts. I went to Burnley under Eddie Howe, I really loved playing under Eddie.

"Sean Dyche came in and changed my game. He wanted me to work harder off the ball. That moved my game on to the next rung.

"Harry Redknapp took me to QPR and with all his experience he brought me on as a player and then gave me the chance, getting promoted, to start as a Premier League centre-forward.

"They've all had their effect on my career."
