QPR coach Mark Bowen has slammed the players after the dismissal of Mark Hughes.
Bowen, who is expected to leave following the arrival of Harry Redknapp, reckons some of Hughes' stars went into hiding and let him down when the going got tough.
Bowen said: "Maybe it's a lesson that you can't bring in 10, 12 players. But the fact is we had to do it.
"Whether it was 13, 14, or more players let go last season not one went to a Premier League club or any club of significance."
And he added: "Last weekend we capitulated in a big game and players, in my opinion, went hiding."
