QPR boss Redknapp insists January signings have proved value

QPR boss Harry Redknapp defended his January signings after their 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.

Redknapp was full of praise for the players he brought to Loftus Road in the January transfer window as owner Tony Fernandes splashed the cash in a bid to secure top-flight survival, even if the former Tottenham manager feels it all could have been a little late in the day for the R's.

"The players who have come in the window have done well, Remy has scored goals, he is probably our leading goalscorer and he has only played about seven games," he said.

"Andros Townsend has come in on loan and been fantastic, made a real difference to the team - Jermaine Jenas has done excellent. Suddenly we look like we are going to score, unfortunately the window came a little late for us perhaps."
