Kris Boyd believes the Portland Timbers are steadily improving but suggests that this weekend's clash with LA Galaxy is vital in that progression.
The former Rangers star and his Timbers teammates are away to the reigning MLS champions this weekend and although Boyd insists the team is going there with confidence, he has highlighted the importance of coming up with a good result against David Beckham and co.
"To beat Galaxy we will have to play at our best and cut out the silly mistakes. That can get the result and what we should aim for as a club and as players.
"Portland is a club that is going places, there is no doubt about that. We have the best of facilities on and off the pitch.
"We need to start performing, concentrating, and getting the results to match our ambition - starting with the trip to Galaxy.""We go to Los Angeles with confidence. We can cause any team problems on our day," he said.
