Palermo coach Davide Ballardini is being linked with AC Milan.

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has cast doubt on the future of Carlo Ancelotti and Mediaset says Ballardini is under consideration along with Cagliari's Massimiliano Allegri.

Ballardini is rated highly by former Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi, who is close to Berlusconi.

Roma boss Luciano Spalletti remains in the frame, though he still has a year on his contract.
