Newcastle United are interested in HJK Helsinki defender Jukka Raitala.
The 20-year-old left-back, who is on trial at St James' Park and could move for £450,000, played in a practice match watched by manager Joe Kinnear yesterday.
The Finland Under 21 star, who rejected a move to West Bromwich Albion, is also being watched by Udinese and Ajax.
