Hatem Ben Arfa has been dumped from Newcastle United's first team squad.
The Sunday Mirror says Ben Arfa has been denied a squad number for the new season, according to reports in France.
It is claimed Ben Arfa - a £5million signing from Marseille in January 2011 - won't be given a number, having previously worn ten.
Neither Ben Arfa, 27, nor countryman and fellow outcast Sylvain Marveaux, 28, figured in Newcastle reserves' 2-0 defeat at Gateshead on Friday.
