Melbourne Victory boss hoping Perth Glory target Kewell makes A-League return

Melbourne Victory head coach Ange Postecoglou admits he would love to see Harry Kewell back in the A-League.

The former Leeds United and Liverpool winger departed the Victory at the end of last season to return to England with his wife Sheree after her mother fell ill but he has failed to find a new club.

It has emerged that Perth Glory are set to hold talks with Kewell over the weekend and that news has been welcomed by Postecoglou who may have been coaching the Socceroos star this season if things remained as they were.

"I'd love to see Harry playing in the A-League," Postecoglou told reporters.

"He's way too young to retire.

"It's probably being a little disrespectful on my behalf to even say that because no one knows personal situations and where they are.

"It's very easy for us to sit outside to make judgments. He's got all the information and I'm sure he's doing what's best for him and his family and that's the most important thing."
