The race for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels is heating up. The Daily Express says United have been long-term admirers of the Borussia Dortmund centre-back with Manchester City also jostling for his signature.
But in recent weeks, both Premier League clubs appeared to have fallen behind Barcelona, who are hot on his trail.
Hummels told BILD: "I don't have any contact with FC Barcelona. I heard the rumours as well; usually there is something true about them.
"Every ambitious thoroughbred footballer always has some of the top European clubs in mind that he can imagine himself playing for."
