Manchester United legend Andy Cole feels Robin van Persie needed his goal against Chelsea on Sunday.
Van Persie equalised in injury-time against the Premier League leaders.
Cole told the Manchester Evening News: "Robin's a quality player and no doubt that will give him a bit more confidence. It's been a tough start, not just for Robin, but for the team.
"Robin's performance against Chelsea was very good, maybe his best performance of the season so far. It'll be a big plus for him to get a goal against Chelsea will be a big boost."
Cole also believes heading into the derby with a draw against Chelsea rather than a defeat is a 'massive plus'.
He added: "You're disappointed to be a goal down in the last couple of minutes but then coming out with a draw, you've got to be absolutely delighted with that, especially moving on to next week and such a big game.
"No doubt, the boys will take a hell of a lot of positives from it, getting the draw and getting a point out of it."
