Manchester City are lining up a bid for Tottenham star Gareth Bale. The Daily Express says the in-form Welshman has seen his stock rise following his coruscating displays in recent weeks, and scored a stunning double during Spurs' thrilling 3-2 derby win over West Ham.
Real Madrid have a long-standing interest in Bale, and the increasing feeling amongst Spurs supporters is that the Bernebeu will be his next destination.
But Manchester City are lining up a bumper offer, which could be in excess of £40m.
