Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has sent an apology to David Luiz for his reckless challenge on the weekend.
The Argentine launched a two-footed attack on the Chelsea defender during City's 2-1 FA Cup semi-final win at Wembley on Sunday and although the Brazilian evaded injury, he wanted an apology from Aguero.
The City ace posted the following on Twitter:
I've contacted @davidluiz_4 and apologized for what happened during the match. It was an impulse reaction that shouldn't have happened. — Sergio Aguero (@aguerosergiokun) April 16, 2013
Aguero escaped retrospective action from the Football Association for the incident because referee Chris Foy had seen it but not acted on it during the game.
