Manchester City have assured manager Manuel Pellegrini he will be in charge next season.
The Daily Star says City finished empty handed this term despite winning their last six games.
But after holding informal talks with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak after Sunday's 2-0 win over Southampton, Pellegrini has been told to get planning for next season.
Pellegrini has one year left on his contract and touched down in Canada last night ahead of a friendly against Toronto tomorrow.
