Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak reportedly convinced Yaya Toure to remain with the club.
The 32-year old Ivorian midfielder was being heavily linked with a summer exit from the Etihad Stadium but talks with Al-Mubarak when the Premier League season concluded helped him make a clear decision.
The Daily Star suggests that Al-Mubarak wants to pair Toure with Juventus star Paul Pogba as City continue their pursuit of the 22-year old France international.
Toure has revealed that he will be staying at City this summer and could even remain beyond his current deal which expires in two years.
