Wigan Athletic have revealed that Adrian Lopez will be sidelined for up to 10 weeks with a hamstring tear.
The Spanish defender suffered the injury in the weekend's 2-1 loss to Norwich City and will now undergo treatment so he can be back as soon as possible.
"We are waiting on the results of another scan, but Adrian has a tear to his hamstring and it will probably be between six and 10 weeks," manager Roberto Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post.
"It's a shame because Adrian has never had a soft-tissue injury before.
"He is a sprinter and he has a real sprinter's muscles - you don't usually see people like him picking up this kind of injury."
