England will play their friendly against Germany on Wednesday without Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard. The Reds skipper picked up a muscle problem on Saturday in the 2-0 Premier League win over Bolton Wanderers.
"Steven picked up an injury in yesterday's game at Bolton," Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said on the club's official website.
"A scan this morning has confirmed a tear in the adductor magnus muscle in his right leg, and he is expected to be out between seven to 10 days."
Gerrard is now rated as doubtful for Liverpool's forthcoming league game against Fulham and UEFA Champions League clash with Marseille.
