Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is delighted to make his loan move to Sunderland.
Borini held face-to-face discussions with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers prior to the transfer deadline and decided his best hopes of first-team football would come at the Stadium of Light.
The Italian striker told the Sunderland Echo: "The move came very quickly at the end of the transfer window.
"After a chat with the Liverpool manager, I understood that there was not much room there to achieve what I wanted to achieve this season.
"I needed to play and to get a place in the team.
"It came from that chat and I came here to fulfil my aims."
