Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler feels Dan Agger should be named vice-captain following the retirement of Jamie Carragher.

Agger leads Denmark and Fowler believes he deserves the recognition.

"There are a few players that we could opt for," he told Liverpoolfc.com.

"I know the website has recently done a vote and I think they have all voted for Daniel Agger. It probably makes sense, to be honest, so I'd probably opt for him. He's a great player.

"When I re-signed, he actually signed the day before me. I would say that would probably not be a bad choice."
