Liverpool chief Rick Parry is keen for the club's American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett to be recognised for their part in signing permanently £18 million midfielder Javier Mascherano.
Parry said: "It demonstrates in very large measure the ongoing commitment of the owners, who once again have come good when funds have been needed."
