Liverpool are chasing Barcelona midfielder Sergi Samper.

Sport says Liverpool and Sevilla head the queue of interested clubs monitoring Samper's situation at La Masia.

The midfielder is rated among the best young players in Spain, but has struggled to get a game this season in Barca B coach Jordi Vinyals' team.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with Samper, but it is Liverpool and Sevilla which have shown strongest interest.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is happy to continue working the Spanish transfer market, having signed Javi Manquillo and Alberto Moreno last summer.
