Lazio are planning a January bid for Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov.
Calciomercato.it says Lazio chiefs see the former Manchester United centre-forward as an ideal long-term replacement for Miroslav Klose, who will leave Rome at the end of this season.
Berbatov infamously pulled out of a move to Bologna last year, but Lazio are hoping to convince the Bulgarian about a career swansong in Italy.
Fulham boss Martin Jol will be reluctant to lose the striker midway through season.
