Laws insists Edgar has Burnley future

Burnley boss Brian Laws insists defender David Edgar has a future at Turf Moor.

The Canada international was farmed out on-loan to Swansea City this week.

"I think it's a great chance for David to get some games because he's obviously frustrated. He wants to be in the team just as much as anybody else," said Laws.

"I can't fit him in at this moment in time but on the emergency loan it does allow us to recall him after 28 days.

"David is very much in our thoughts but I think getting him first-team games with Swansea, who are playing really good football and in a position where they are winning consistently, is a fantastic opportunity.

"I think it's a win-win situation. We can only benefit from it and so will David.

"We will be keeping close tabs on him."
