Alessandro del Piero will hold a new round of talks with Juventus directors today over a new contract.
Reports yesterday morning revealed Del Piero was stunned by Juve's offer on Tuesday and that negotiations were on the brink of collapse. However, Bianconeri insiders say management are confident of reaching an agreement when the two parties return to the negotiating table today.
Juve are willing to extend Del Piero's contract through to 2010, but want the 33 year-old to take a 20 per cent pay-cut, which they argue is in line with his age.
