Inter Milan in Barcelona talks for Daniel Alves

Inter Milan have sounded out Barcelona for fullback Daniel Alves. Inside the final year of his current deal, Barca have ruled out offering new terms to Alves and would prefer to sell this month, says Sport.

Inter have made contact with Barca and are willing to offer Alves a long-term deal - in the range of three-to-four years - which is well beyond what he could expect from any club in England.

But Alves' priority is to move to the Premier League, where Liverpool are keen.

Inter won't be put off - and Barca will do everything to smooth negotiations, including granting the Brazilian a free transfer to get his €12 million salary off their books.
