Galliani: Poor AC Milan season down to injuries

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani insists injuries are the cause of their poor season.

Out of the Coppa Italia, out of the UEFA Cup and out of the Scudetto race, Galliani concedes a top four finish is all they can focus on.

"For this, we must try to maintain third place, but to do this we must also try to recover our injured players, which were many," said Galliani. "I believe that if we had had a full squad for the entire season, we'd have fought for the championship until the last day.

"Kakha Kaladze will work tomorrow, his season is over. We have never been able to have our central pair of (Alessandro) Nesta and Kaladze. To say nothing of the injury to Borriello, who should have been our centre-forward, and Rino Gattuso and Kaka, two other key pieces.

"I repeat, I think our season has not been good mainly because of this."
