Former Aston Villa junior Colin Marshall is playing in the Spanish Third Division with Crevillente Deportivo.
The 26-year-old Scot is hoping Steven Davis can help Rangers pick up something in their Champions League clash against Valencia.
Marshall told the Scottish Sun: "Steve is one of my best mates from our time together at Aston Villa.
"We first knew each other when we were 15 and ended up living together in digs for about three years.
"I went to Las Vegas for his stag do and was also an usher at his wedding to his wife Tracey.
"He sorts me out for tickets and I will be going to see him play against Valencia.
"We actually played together against Valencia when Aston Villa were in Germany playing a youth tournament.
"We won the competition which had the likes of Barcelona and Stuttgart in it and beat Valencia in the group stages."
