Falkirk boss John Hughes is a target for Aberdeen as new contract talks with manager Jimmy Calderwood stall.

Scotland on Sunday says Calderwood, 52, claims there are many outstanding issues still to be settled before he will commit to a new contract, forcing the Dons directors to consider potential replacements.

Hughes, 43, is believed to be top of that list after an impressive start to his managerial career with the Bairns.
