At the seventh time of asking Stoke finally defeated midland rivals Wolves in the FA Cup, 1-0 at Molineux, but not before their opponents had missed a late penalty. Wolves can now concentrate on remaining in the Premier League after being dumped out of the FA Cup 1-0 by local rivals Stoke City.
They did have a chance to salvage a replay in the last minute but a penalty taken by Nenad Milijas was saved by Thomas Sorensen.
Robert Huth was the culprit for fouling Milijas and the German almost undid all his good work of eight minutes earlier when he had headed the Potters in front from a Matthew Etherington cross.
A dour game only came to life in the closing minutes although earlier Steven Fletcher had hit a post with a header for the home side.
