Former Sporting CP coach Laszlo Bölöni has spoken of giving Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo his first team debut.

Ronaldo won his third Ballon d'Or on Monday.

"At the start I had to battle against his exaggerated nature and correct a few things. He wouldn't stop doing tricks and overdoing it with the dribbling," recalled Boloni.

"We used to forgive Ronaldo for everything."
