Harry Kewell was officially unveiled as Melbourne Victory's newest signing today and he says he is ready for the challenge. The 32-year old former Leeds United, Liverpool and Galatasaray attacker has returned home to continue his stellar career in the A-League and he said at his first press conference as a Victory player that he is excited about what is in front of him.
"I love playing football and I'm going to show my teammates, the A-League what I really love about football," he said.
"Personally I still feel I can play at the highest level. And I want to show that.
"It's the right moment for me to come back and give something back to Australian football."
And Kewell is aware that he may be the subject of some strong-arm tactics from opponents who are keen to cut him down.
"And I know it's going to be difficult for me. And I know there's going to be a lot of young, hot-blooded people out there who are going to do something to me," he added.
"And I know the refs are going to be against me but these are things I took into consideration and I'm up for the challenge.
"You're not going to get nothing from me but professionalism and showing everyone how to play football."
