Russell Anderson has completed his return to Aberdeen after more than five years away from the club.
The 33-year old defender, who left Derby County last month, is still sidelined with injury but has been snapped up by the Dons after he made close to 300 league appearances for the club between 1996 and 2007.
"Our medical team and the player are confident that he will make a full recovery.
"Russell is Aberdeen through and through and his influence both on and off the park will be a massive confidence boost for all of us here.""Russell has signed initially until the end of next season and, even although he is some weeks away from a return to full fitness, simply having him around the club again is a tremendous boost to everyone," Dons boss Craig Brown told the club's official website.
