Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy is staying in England today.
The Daily Mail says McCarthy has not boarded the plane to Dublin to join up with the rest of the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of the weekend's international fixtures.
McCarthy is a target for Everton and Newcastle United.
