Dundee United manager Peter Houston feels that young striker Johnny Russell will be able to develop his game better at Tanandice Park.
The 21-year old was the subject of a failed bid from Celtic late in the winter transfer market and Houston says it is not such a bad thing for Scotland U21 international.
"He is a very promising player but he's learning all the time.
"It's only a few months ago that I felt the need to take him out of the team when his consistency dropped a wee bit.
"In 18 months he can be in the same position as David Goodwillie (now with Blackburn Rovers).
"What he's got to add to his game is the number of goals that Goodie was able to score.
"We have one striker scoring double figures - Jon Daly - and I think Johnny can get there too.
"Learn his trade is the best thing for him.""There is no doubt staying here is the best thing for Johnny," Houston said.
